Refunds for excess payments due to failed transactions:
If any applicant has paid the application fee more than once due to network failure and the same is also deducted from his/her bank account, then the excess amount paid by the applicant will be refunded by IIT Kharagpur. To enable the refund, the applicant has to send an e-mail with subject Refund of Excess Amount to jmp@adm.iitkgp.ernet.in with the following details: 1) Name, 2) Application No., 3) Transaction ID, Date and Time. Based on the email and verification, refunds will be initiated by IIT Kharagpur and this may take 15 days from the date of receipt of mail.
Since refunds will be made by IIT Kharagpur, the applicant who has made excess payment should not raise chargeback with the online transaction service provider. The service provider will not entertain any chargeback request.
Refunds to applicants who opt for withdrawal of offer before due date
If a candidate after accepting the offer wishes to withdraw from the admission process, Rs. 29000/- will be refunded after deducting Rs. 1000/- towards application processing fee. Provided the withdrawal is made on or before June 24, 2015. Candidate must send an email to jmp@adm.iitkgp.ernet.in with subject Refund for Claiming refunds towards withdrawal from course giving JMP Application Number, Name, etc. However, if a candidate withdraws the offer on or after June 25, 2015, the candidate will forfeit the entire seat booking fees of Rs. 30,000/- and NO refund will be made.
